Obesity is a complicated clinical state that is like an equiation with multiple unknowns. Increased body weight and altered body tissue compositions as well as altered organ functions make anestesia and surgical procedures more complicated and difficult.

In the field of surgery and anesthesia regarding obese patients requiring operational interventinal techniques; recent knowledge, imaging and monitozirion capabilities are essential to obtain high success rates.
Our aim is to comprehensively address the background of the altered physiology and anatomy of the obese patients requring perioperative care and to provide clinicians, anesthesiologists, and healthcare professionals with up-to-date, reliable, and guiding information.
